Nurse Managers are responsible for managing health units within hospitals and other health settings such as community health clinics and aged care facilities. They help bridge the gap between clinical care and administrative processes - leading to the smooth and efficient running of the health unit, as well as patient and staff well-being and satisfaction. Nurse managers oversee patient care, supervise nursing staff, manage budgets and financial resources, recruit new staff, organise rostering and employment entitlements, manage performance reviews, provide feedback and professional development/career progression opportunities, promote working relationships with stakeholders, develop and implement policies and objectives which maintain the provision of quality healthcare within a safe environment and support the strategic goals of the hospital/clinic.
